Let's start off by saying I got a great price on this cruise. 6 of us cruised for under $4,000. That being said, I was very disappointed with this cruise. It is my 4th cruise with Carnival, the last one being only a year ago.
This sailing (12/19) had soooooooo many kids. They were everywhere and shall we say "undisciplined". Hey I was there with my kids (18-23) so I am not anti-kids. When they run through the halls, push you out of the way in the buffet line and have food fights with the ice cream, there is a problem. No one on the staff seemed to be able to do anything about it.
Next disappointing item: the food. Again, having cruised Carnival last year, I had expectations. The Lido Buffet was bland, very institutional, seemed to be closed at odd times. The burger station was horrible. The burgers tasted "old" as if they were cooked earlier and just kept warm. The pizza was pathetic, when you could get it. Maybe it was a cost cutting measure, or maybe the pizza makers were just inexperienced, but they would only start to make the next pizza when all the slices of the prior pizza given out. That meant you could wait up to an hour for pizza if there was a line of 7 people.
