A 'suite' experience on the Celebrity Solstice

Sail Date: December 2013
Destination: Australia & New Zealand
Embarkation: Auckland
My husband and I have just had the pleasure of a 12 night cruise on the Celebrity Solstice. This was the longest cruise we have done to date but we have had several short cruises on Princess and Royal Caribbean and without hesitation I would say that our Celebrity experience was the most amazing.

To begin I would like to say how impressed we were with the way the crew and staff conduct themselves. From the Officers and crew to the bar staff we were always made to feel welcome and at home throughout the cruise. It is the first cruise that I have been on where without exception everyone seems happy to be working there.

We were in a Celebrity suite # 1235 and it was the most comfortable accommodation we could have asked for. The bedroom was separate from the main cabin and there was ample storage space with a walk-in wardrobe and an additional wardrobe in the foyer,a beautifully decorated bathroom, large modular lounge, televisions in both the bedroom and lounge and a More double size balcony with lounge table and chairs. Although located near the atrium we were never aware of any noise emanating from the entertainment in the grand foyer.

As a suite guest we were assigned a butler. It was our good fortune to have Arsim as our butler. A very kind, gentle and attentive gentleman nothing was ever a problem and he continually provided us with service beyond our expectations.

In regards to the dining on the Solstice we were impressed with the standard of food in both the Grand Epernay dining room, Silk and the Tuscan Grille. As regards the specialty restaurants, it was well worth the cover charge to be able to dine in such wonderful surroundings, with friendly and attentive staff and a comprehensive menu. The presentation of the food was always exquisite and equally matched by the flavours.

Unfortunately the only minus was the Oceanview Bistro. Whilst breakfast and lunch always provided a varied and comprehensive selection the dinner menu left a lot to be desired, and it showed by the small patronage.

The amenities on the Solstice are many and with the guidance of Ian the Cruise Director there was always something to do, to watch or to participate in. Entertainment was varied and and professional, with many wonderful musicians and singers throughout the ship.

The decor of the Solstice is beautiful and we were always finding another bar or lounge in which to sit, relax and watch the passing parade.

The ports provided stunning scenery and those that required tender were dealt with in a timely and professional manner with minimum time spent waiting. On return to the ship we were always greeted on the dock with either ice water and cold towels or when it was cold and wet, umbrellas and hot chocolate, superior service!

No doubt the success of a cruise is whether you would do it again. By midway through the cruise we had decided that we wanted to cruise with Celebrity again and took advantage of the onboard specials to book another two cruises.

Congratulations and thank you Celebrity Solstice we had an unforgettable holiday! Less
