My husband and I took a 5 day, 4 night cruise to Cozumel, Mexico. We have cruised before with Princess, and we were not disappointed by the friendly and helpful crew. We were upgraded twice and ended up with a balcony, which was lovely. The room was a little larger than the interior rooms we usually travel in and the balcony was ample enough for the two of us to enjoy.
Our excursion when we arrived in Cozumel was to Playa del Carmen and the Tulum Mayan ruins. We had to take a 30 minute ferry on very choppy waters where several of the passengers got sick. Once we arrived on Playa del Carmen, we had a 45 minute bus ride to Tulum. Our tour guide, Juan, was the best guide we have ever had. Very informative and you could tell that he really loved telling us about his culture (he is part Mayan!). Unfortunately, the weather was rather chilly and windy and half way through our visit to the ruins, it started to rain. There are no places of refuge to get out of the rain, no bathrooms, nothing, just the amazing Mayan ruins city. I just wish we had more time to spend there but because traffic was really bad coming and going, we had little time to stroll the grounds. Because there were at least 4 buses that had to get back to the ferry, and the traffic was really bad (it took us 2 hours to get back to the ferry), our captain did not take off until we were all on board again.
We had the early sitting in the Da Vinci dining room, and the meals, as always, were delicious and ample. We also went to the early showings at the Princess Theatre and the shows were wonderful.... We also enjoyed all the different trivial games that they had on board during the cruise. We will definitely cruise again with Princess because they know how to treat you right..
