We took the Star from Copenhagen to Miami as a repo cruise and that was a mistake. For starters the ship was tired and well worn, in need of a make-over. This 13 day trip had just one scheduled stop which was in the Azores on a Sunday when everything was closed, Way to go NCL! This cruise was not designed with the guests in mind. Our luggage did not arrive until well after 9PM that was because they were busy riffling through it to find stuff they did not want us to have. We had three bottles of liquor left over from our two months in Europe. We did not bring it to avoid buying the drinks on board, in fact as soon as we got on board we purchased the liquor package for two at a cost of nearly $ 1400.00, so it would have been foolish to drink our own. Just about every ship has a policy that they do not want you to bring liquor on board ( except wine). We have cruised on four cruise lines and taken 20 cruises and never have we had our luggage ransacked. The fact that they did it without our being present is appalling. They left a note in the luggage with an inventory of what they took, however that inventory list did not include my new Galaxy 4 cell phone that had been packed in my checked bag since it did not work in Europe. When I complained, they said they would review the tape of the search, as if it was taken in view of the security cameras. Anyway never heard back from them, fortunately I had a replace for any reason insurance on it with a $ 100.00 deductible. I found the service personnel to be eager to please, polite and courteous, I could not say the same for the various "officers" pertaining to the hotel operation. The food was mediocre and the same quality in the " for fee" places. Based on our experience on the Star, I would never cruise on NCL again, there are too many decent cruise lines out there to choose from

Cabin Review

We had a balcony cabin midship not sure of the exact number, it was old and on the small side about 219 sq feet our balcony was covered in salt residue the whole time and never cleaned
