Sail Date: Dec 2013

We had a great time on this cruise.....we've sailed previously on Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean and this was only our 2nd time with Carnival. Loved the ship! Yes, it's a little over done but we really enjoyed it....the Xmas decorations almost got lost in the décor. The food was very good, and as far as we were concerned actually better then some previous cruises. Deserts were all excellent. Anytime dining was a breeze.....people were lined up for their assigned dining but we just walked in and were seated within minutes. We were able to get the same booth each night and had a great wait staff. The shows were well done and energetic....the last sea day the dancers and singers and orchestra preformed in some way in 3 different shows. Comedian Happy Cole was excellent....standing room only by his last night. If you couldn't find something to eat or entertain you on this cruise then cruising isn't for you. In Cozumel we went to Paradise Beach...$15 cab ride....$2...admission...you are required to spend $10 a person on food...which for us was no problem as we made the mistake of ordering 3 large sodas...$25!! We did order a plate of nachos for $8.95 which were very good...so make sure when they ask you if you want a large drink to decline...your money is better spent on food. Did the cave tubing in Belize with VIV tours at $45/pp.

We were late getting off the ship because of the tender situation....it's about a 25 minute tender and apparently Belize is always a problem...found our tour but they waited another 30 minutes for more passengers....long story short....great tour, nice guide and driver BUT never again will we do a private tour there....the last tender was at 4PM....we didn't head back to port until 3PM...and it was 1 1/2 hour drive!! Luckily for us Celebrity had a tour that was also late....the roads were bad...flooding from the rain....we caught the last tender at 4:30 PM....just too close for me. Grand Cayman is the most affluent port....good infrastructure ....took a shuttle to Royal Palm beach for $4.00 for the 3 of us....$2/pp to get in ....we declined to rent the chairs and umbrellas....just took a towel and sat in a shady spot on the beach. The water was great and plenty of shuttles available to return to port. We were late docking in Tampa due to fog and we were all allowed to stay in our cabins until past 9:30 AM....they extended the breakfast buffet an hour also....we didn't get off the ship until noon and were able to have a hot dog as they opened the grill also. We thought they made us as comfortable as possible and the delay was out of their hands. Really enjoyable cruise with no downside.
