First time cruiser on Holland America and likely the last. The Stateroom was spacious but only had one electrical outlet, no fan in the bathroom and poor draining shower stall as well toilet plugged up several times. We were fortunate to have a functioning a/c room, a privilege many on our level did not have, even after registering complaints.
The lounges around the pool were so tightly crammed together making it difficult to get into. Elevators and beverage machines were regularly out of order. Service was almost non-existent - Possibly due to shortage of staff, inexperience, did not understand English and lack of interest in both Lido and Dining Room. The meals were so slow in arriving that on several occasions were late for the entertainment. Also the Lido food often ran out and area closed far too soon.
The last week of the cruise visited Honduras, Guatemala and Costa Maya and unless you want to go to the beach there is nothing else to see. Also on the last week the pool was the same temperate as the hot tubs and only repaired on the last day.
