Hopefully as cruise ' virgins' we can share some useful information.Whats to like about this cruise?:waking up in amazing locations ( like Sydney Harbour,Milford Sound,Akaroa);the ship( its scale & amenity standards:theatre, library,Grand Epernay dining)..the outstanding service ( everywhere) ...the stateroom...casual eats at Grill bar on deck with excellent music in the background.Whats not to like?: the overcrowded gym with several running machines out of action after a couple of days/limited weights ;cafeteria like breakfast/casual eating which feels like the dodgems; intermittent ,very expensive wifi ; too many over eaters.Inevitably you will also meet guests keen to share that they have paid a fraction of what you have(usually American).Cruising is obviously a very competitive business these days & with high ,sunk fixed costs prone to more than the odd ' marginal costed deal' if you are a regular who knows your way around cruise discount websites.Very pleasantly surprised at the quality of entertainment .Our no1 cruise tip would be to book shore excursions direct before you go as you will pay a fraction of the cost.We also pre paid gratuities( hundreds of $ each) .If we could do it again we'd prefer to tip key waiters/ stateroom attendants directly rather than pay into a pool which probably subsidises low wages.Final point : it's obvious cruise lines aren't really interested in well being: as if you buy the daily drinks package & want to get any kind of value for money you are very likely to be exceeding sensible level of daily alcohol units. All said If or when we cruise again we will certainly consider Celebrity as the standards were excellent.

Cabin Review

Decent size ,feels like a small 5 star hotel room.Well positioned towards back of ship on starboard( right) side.Location makes it easy to reach lifts & minimal motion.Clear sea view outlook with lifeboats below.
