We are family of four taking a balcony room over the Thanksgiving week. The room is the smallest room in 15 years of cruising. There is only one person who can move while the rest sit on a bed or couch. The design of the sink next to the bed is the worst and when the 3rd and 4th bed are fixed one cannot open the closets so you need to plan the next days clothes in advance. The lighting is so dim that to shave or the wife putting on makeup we hope there is daylight coming thru the doors. Ac comes on and off thru the night I almost feel they shut it down for a while. If one needs the bathroom in the night or to go early for a coffee or gym you basically wake everyone to use the bathroom( which is as loud as a train ) and sink which is next to the bed was dumb but hey they probably stuck an extra 20 cabins or so by having such narrow cabins.

The system in the dining room is chaotic at best. We can see our food sit on the counter for 5-8 minutes while the waiter figures out what goes where and did i mention the food comes out at different times to the table, some get dinner while others still start on salad. After the second time with this freestyle dinning we stuck with the pay restaurants which are much better. The upstairs buffet doesnt have enough seating and be prepared for the same menu disguised with sauces and gravies all week.Good crisp bacon but blah pancakes and waffles. Crepes are nice but they take too long to prepare.

On the bright side the entertainment was good but seating is limited . Cirque show was excellent. We had the feeling everything seems to be done on a cheap scale. Never enough glasses, silverware, drink servers but eventually they wash everything and bring out more. Deck chairs are always tough but try waiting for a server to come around to order a drink. Sorry to say I rank this cruise on the bottom. They have better shows than costa and carnival but worse food and cabin design. There are no large open areas except the sports bar area and one really feels the crowds always unlike the RCL ships.Lastly the elevators take forever and learn to do the stairs.

Cabin Review

cabin has the worst design in the industry. Dimly lit, loud toilets, very narrow that two people cannot pass each other without one sitting on the bed. The sink next to the bed is cute at first but totally unusable. They did not think someone may get up at night to use the bathroom or want to leave early for coffee or the gym. Typically the bathroom is enclosed by itself so you can open the light , use the bathroom and wash up without affecting every one else. Hot shower and the steam floats right into the room. We opened the balcony door and hall door to get the hall AC to clear out the room heat.
