As first time cruisers I did a lot of research and was recommended Celebrity. We wanted a ship that would fit in with our age group (early 50's) and not too many children.
Positives: The boat was beautiful and exceeded our expectations. We upgraded to Concierge and were not disappointed. Our cabin was in a lovely position with plenty of room for stowage of cases, clothes, toiletries etc. Our attendant was good and kept the room immaculate at all times with fresh towels, turn down service etc. The Opus restaurant was never overly busy and we chose Select dining and only ever waited about 2-3 minutes for a table. The library, hideaway, and various seating areas were never busy and you could always find a seat, the Reflection theatre was huge and never full. The two shows we saw were excellent and we really enjoyed Michaels bar (my Husband is a beer and Whiskey fan so this combined the two perfectly!) the staff there were great and he even received a certificate. We didn't join in with too much activities e.g. dance/zumba classes but we did enjoy the trivia quizzes. We didn't take out a beverage plan - $59.00 a day per person is extortionate! We enjoyed wine, beer and spirits and spent less than half of that amount - I guess if you want to spend your entire holiday in the bar then it's a good deal!
Negatives: Internet prices are incredulous! .75cents a minute! and then they charge you for some assistance in setting your Wi-Fi up or tell you - that even though you are paying a premium rate you cannot Skype or Facetime - this was the only reason we wanted internet.
Lovely Cabin - mid ship, port side - beautiful sun on the return crossing. Close to the library and lifts but far enough away not to be noisy - Level 10.
