We have been on 5 cruises in the past 3 years including RCI and Celebrity. This was our first Carnival cruise and we were excited to try this line. Our travel agent{who has since been fired}, said that Carnival was right up there with RCI. Well she was wrong. the room.. we always book a suite and when we got to our room we could not believe how small it was and dirty. I went to the pursers office and waited in a long line to make sure they had put us in the right room. He said this was a great cabin and we should be happy with it. Well we weren't but we said we aren't in the room that much so let's not worry. The RCI suites have curtains so 1 person can sleep and not be disturbed, and are much larger. They also have concierge service. Carnival has none. The people in the cabin next to us were the loudest drunkest people I have ever heard.

Our room steward was grouchy and complained about his job everyday. Whenever we asked for anything we were treated as though we had better appreciate it if we got it. On the last morning our room steward came into our room at 6:45 am and told us to get up because he had to make the bed. We told him to leave as we were not even out of bed yet. All of the staff had bad attitudes and the service was poor at best.

The food on the ship was horrible and thrown at you. I think we ate dinner every night in about 35 minutes. The supper club, extra charge, was very nice and the food much better. Even breakfast was bad. They cooked the eggs in oil and everything they served was greasy. I could go on and on but I would not recommend Carnival to anyone. There isn't enough of a price difference between Carnival and the other mainstream cruise lines to warrant such a difference in service and food.
