Never so disappointed in our lives!!

Sail Date: November 2013
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)
We recently took a cruise for the first time aboard the Crown Princess. The ship was late embarking due to a repositioning cruise from Europe. There were people standing in line for over 2 hrs. Someone fainted and another had symptoms of a heart attack. Princess was most definitely NOT prepared for something like this. The last embarkation was around 6P.M. and we left port about 2 & 1/2 hrs. late. When we arrived in our state room the air was not working adequately enough to cool the room down comfortably. We addressed the situation twice to which they first said they are working on it and it should start to cool off very shortly. After a day of waiting we asked again and they said that because the ship came from a cooler climate it would take time to acclimate to the warm weather. We couldn't even cool off in our cabin. They never did attend to that problem. Half way through our cruise our balcony door started sticking. You couldn't open it without pushing your entire body into More it. Again we called and again it went without being fixed.

Food was hit and miss in the buffet and helter skelter. Milk was served to you at room temperature and a limited selection of juice. Our friends experienced issues such as their toilet in their cabin not working for the first 3 days of the voyage. Everytime they had to go to the bathroom they had to use the public toilets onboard. At night they'd have to get dressed to use them. They finally did a temporary fix which allowed them to use the bathroom in their cabin but after everytime they used it they had to call someone to do something so it would flush.

We had encountered MANY other passengers that had the same issue with the air and were told the same story. They need to revamp their activities on board. Very boaring and lacking. They need to utilize their big screen in a better fashion and not show boaring old movies and their wake up show with their less than entertaining cruise director and his side kick. All in all this cruise was the worst cruise we've ever been on and very very disapointing. We will NEVER cruise with Princess again and many others have said the same. Shape up or ship out Princess Cruises!!!! Less

Cabin review:

Room was smaller than we've ever had. The air conditioning was inadequate. Balcony door started sticking mid way through our stay. Neither of these issues were ever taken care of.

Port and Shore Excursions

Beach Break

Aruba is beautiful. Moomba beach was great. Food and beverage available along with little shops. I only wish we had a longer stay at the beach.

California Lighthouse

Views from the California light house were spectacular!

Pretty little island. Found the shop owners to be quite pushy but all in all a average visit.

Beautiful stretch of beach with little shops.
