My 4th cruise... but first in the era of the internet. Last 3 trips were business related and were what is considered luxury cruises. I am a fan of Aruba and was there 3 times last year. During a snorkel trip I made friends with a couple who came off a ship that morning and after talking to them, i decided to check out the RC/Carnival priced trips. Booking was easy. Get on their web site and have fun checking out all the different trip options and prices. Well, I wanted to get away for a quick weekend so I booked a 3 night on the Majesty. Flew down to Miami and stayed at the Courtyard the night before. This Courtyard has a restaurant so dinner and breakfast was easy. That Friday morning, my wife and I walked the few blocks to the park by the water and it was nice. At 11am we got a van that took us to the dock for $5 per person. Porters took our bags and we checked in. The airlines need to take a lesson from Royal... On the ship having lunch in the Windjammer in less then 20 minutes. After lunch we walked around the ship for a few , had a drink and after about an hour went back to our rooms to find our luggage waiting.

The Ship: The Ship itself was clean and OK. Their were some areas where their was an off smell like old garbage and it was a turnoff. I have heard that the ship is being redone and that will take care of any issues in the future. The rooms were smaller then I remembered but since I did not spend that much time there I did not mind. I did upgrade to get full window, but on the 7th deck, you had to keep the curtain closed anyway since people were walking around outside my cabin and could look in.

Meals were a 7 out of 10. I thought there could have been more choices. Lunch was actually my favorite in the Maytime dining room with fresh pasta sauces being made in front of you. Midnite Buffet looked great but I did not eat. Service: 10 out of 10.... Room Attendant was there and met all our needs and knew us by name after day 1. Dinner staff was terrific. Day one was bad weather and the dining room was empty, but they were able to work around the rocking ship and made dinner enjoyable. I enjoyed buying a bottle of wine and being able to have them hold for the next dinner.
