First let me say that after reading some of the reviews posted about the food and embarkation process for NCL, I was on the lookout. However, there was nothing bad about the embarkation in Miami. In fact, it was really smooth and carefree. I guess that the ones who wrote reviews and complained were the ones who arrived at the peak times from about 11:30 am to 1pm. One has to realize that if you arrive at check in at peak times, then one would have to understand that the wait would be longer. I did come off the ship for a brief moment at around 12:30pm and the terminal was swamped with people. However, I did notice that even though the terminal was packed, that every one of the NCL employees were working and taking care of the passengers. What else could one ask for?
The ship was clean and immaculate. The cabin was ready and the staff was friendly and had smiles on their faces. We made our way to Tango's and made our reservations for the week. The lifeboat drill was painless and comfortable. We had to wait in the main show lounge.
The officers and the captain made a gracious appearance at our CC meeting on Monday morning. They had coffee and pastries waiting for us. What a nice surprise to speak with the captain and all of the top officers. They stayed for about 15 minutes and answer all of our questions. They were top notch. Great!
