We just returned yesterday from our 7-day Western Caribbean cruise onboard of the "Costa Atlantica". As this was my first cruise ever, I really did not know what to expect from such ships.

After a little bit of a confusion at the embarkation in Fort Lauderdale (that process really needs improvement) we finally made it on board. We really got a good price and went with the inside cabin on deck 1. To my surprise it was quiet comfortable, even as we traveled with our two kids (both 12). Of course it's not a suite, but then on the other hand, how much time are you really spending in your cabin?

FOOD: I read pretty much all reviews about the Costa Atlantica before we went on this trip - and there were a lot of comments (negative) about the food. In my opinion I would consider the food (regardless if you choose the buffet or the sit-down restaurants) first-class. Costa and the Costa Atlantica staff surely create a 5-star, culinary exciting meals throughout your journey.
