It is with great pleasure that I write this review. Reading the experiences of others on this site prior to embarking on the December 9, 2006 sailing of the Pride of America was an invaluable exercise and it is only right that I pass my experiences on so that others can too benefit.

My wife and I hail from Australia, the land down under. This was our first trip to Hawaii and only my second cruise, the first being some 20 years ago, when I was in my late teens. My wife was making her cruising debut. We chose a cruise not because we wanted to go on a cruise, but because our research suggested that this was the best value for money way to see a little bit of all of the islands. Hotel prices on most of the islands are quite expensive and what you get for your dollar is often questionable to say the least. The Pride of America is effectively a cheap floating hotel, with food, transport and entertainment thrown in.

As I said, we had read the reviews, so we didn't come on the ship expecting wonders, but overall we were very happy in all respects. Not everything was perfect, but we were happy and in general our expectations were exceeded.
