FIRST DAY We, my sister, brother-in-law & I, decided to go on the Voyager since she will be coming to Galveston & that is our port of choice. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale on Southwest Airlines because we had free tickets. The flight arrived at 2:20pm and we had great difficulty contacting the company we had booked for our transfer to Miami. We FINALLY got them and arrived at the cruise terminal at 3:50. Good news--no line, Bad news--no food available as everything was closed until after muster.

We were in awe and overwhelmed at the size of the ship, especially since we had only been on Vision class before. We found our cabin (a D1 this time), got our life jackets and went in search of food since we had not eaten since early morning. As I have already posted, everything was closed until after muster. Went to our muster station B15 & enjoyed the relaxed (but serious) atmosphere. Went to Cafe Promenade and had a bite to eat and drank a drink of the day--Miami something or other, ok, but not great (the drink). We roamed a bit--she is all decorated for Christmas and absolutely beautiful. Went back to our cabin. Met our cabin steward Seylon from Nicaragua, he is going to be great. We unpacked. This cabin was smaller than the Junior Suite on the Rhapsody that we had the last cruise, but we felt like it would work out ok. The biggest difference is in the bathroom. The bathroom fortunately had the hard doors on the shower instead of the clingy curtain, but man is it smaller. WE decided the room will work and especially since there was such a difference in price between the D1 & the Junior Suite. We decided to move the coffee table out to the balcony so we would have room to walk around. We went to the Windjammer and ate a small snack to carry us over until 2nd seating dinner. The Windjammer/Island Grill is so much bigger than the Windjammer on the Rhapsody, again, we were in awe. We found the sushi bar and loved it!!!! (Went back for snacks of sushi the rest of the week.)

ENTERTAINMENT/ACTIVITIES--Went to the Welcome Aboard Show and it was terrific. The "Adagio" show was fantastic, comedian Dan Wilson was good and the Cruise Director GRaham Seymour was incredible. The best cruise director we have ever seen. We loved his morning TV show--Be Very Afraid Morning Show. Great way to wake up in the morning. Not only was it informative, but hysterical.Dan Wilson's late night adult comedy was funny, although our dining table mates said they were offended by him. We sure liked him. We went to the Captain's reception in the Promenade--that was interesting--the Promenade. Lots of things happened in the Promenade. Some were conducive to it, others would have been better some place else. The different parades late at night were so-so. Really wasn't our deal & we felt they expended a great deal of energy and money that could have been used somewhere else. The cooking demonstration did not lend itself at all well to the Promenade. We purposely got there early to be able to sit and ended up not being able to see a thing. Promenade was a wonderful place to watch people though & that we did a great deal.
