Crown Princess Review Back to Back Oct 27-Nov 11, 2006 New York - San Juan

This was my 3rd and 4th cruise with Princess. I have also been on 4 Carnival and 3 NCL cruises. I am a farmer and scrimp and save all year for a cruise. I am in my early forties and I took my disabled 69-year-old mom.

My mom is disabled from a stroke and can not walk. She gets around with an electric scooter. We booked a handicapped cabin. The door to get in the cabin is wider so she could drive her scooter in the room. We talked to many people who were disabled and needed handicapped cabins but they were all booked. They mainly needed the wider doors so they could get their mobility devices in their cabins. Some of these disabled pax went to the pursers desk asking if they would check to see if some of the people in the handicapped cabins were not in need. In other words able bodied. The pursers desk refused to check. They told them all the handicapped cabins were booked. period. I know for a fact that there were able bodied people booked in some of the handicapped cabins.
