NIGHT BEFORE: We drove to Galveston and stayed at the San LuisResort 11/18. This hotel is top notch, very nice and you can leave your car and shuttle to the pier. It was very convenient. We would recommend it highly.

PIER: On Sunday we arrived at the pier at 1030. Many folks were still getting off the ship. But, a long line had already started to form upstairs. Luckily, we had been upgraded to a penthouse suite, and we were in VIP check-in. The process started at 11 am and we were on the ship by noon! We had most decks to ourselves at this time which was really neat. Upon embarking, we went to the Lido deck and had the buffet lunch. We were shocked at how much food was available. Just about anything you could want! It tasted great, too.

CABIN: Our cabin was ready by 130 and we went to put our bags away. I had ordered decorations for our 15 year anniversary and they were superb. The whole cabin had something somewhere! Well worth the money! We had not told our kids we were in a suite and when we opened the door they were happily surprised. It was so big and nice! Thanks to Carnival!! Our cabin steward was great and left all sorts of cool towel animals. Our room never lacked anything and they get you ice everyday, too. It was hard to enjoy the balcony because of all the wind, though.
