This was our second cruise, our first cruise was a Western Caribbean Cruise on RCL Explorer of the Sea last October. We were a bit worried that we would find the Tahitian Princess too small after the much larger cruise ship, but this wasn't the case. Although it is a small ship it really didn't feel any smaller and didn't feel crowded at all.
I did this trip with my DS, we traveled from New Zealand aboard Air Tahiti Nui. It's a 4 ½ hour trip from Auckland, we were impressed with the airline, nice comfortable seats (we traveled in economy) with individual movie screens on the back of each seat, and friendly staff. We arrived in Papeete at 9pm and were welcomed at the airport with a flower for our hair and a couple of men singing and playing ukuleles, which was a nice touch. Going through customs with quick and easy.
We had purchased a transfer to our hotel through Princess, they were very well organized given the number of people they need to get onto the buses. We were greeted by the transfer representative with a flower lei, before being directed to our bus.
