We had a party of 9, all with many NCL cruises under their belts, and we all agreed that we would never go on the Breakaway again. They have ruined the experience by eliminating the Spinnaker lounge. And reducing public space. This meant No quest, no Hypnotists, No white party. and no Newlywed not so newlywed game. They tried to move the venue for the newlywed game but it couldn't accommodate the crowd. We arrived 40 minutes before the show and there was a line bigger than the room could accommodate. They have opened up the back of the ship to an open air club called H20. But that was too windy and it is only weather permitting. NY can get chilly for 3 seasons! You will not find any of the varied musicians throughout the ship that we were used to. No Ms. Muscles contest. The pool area is much too small and the area around it is too small to have events. The atrium is way too small for the volume of passengers. The auditorium is about a third the size but it now holds 4000 passengers. Make sure you first book the shows before you leave then arrive 30 minutes before or you wont get a seat. Oh and while you are in the auditorium don't expect to see the show fountains, that has also been eliminated. Oh yes, no viewing area for the bridge. In place of the spaces they have stuffed high price cabins with a private pool area called The Haven.

With 2 more of these ships coming online, I will probably look to other cruise lines again. Its a shame because we like Norwegian. On the positive side, the slides are a hoot and the rope course was fun. The entertainment that they do have is very good. Just not a lot of it. We found ourselves going to the same shows night after night. It was that or go to the cabin. The ships employees are just as friendly, they were footing a lot of complaints though.

Cabin Review

Our cabin was large, since my wife had an operation and need a power scooter.
