We had not travelled with Celebrity before and can say after this experience that we will be back! The Solstice is an amazing ship. Beautifully maintained and presented. The cleanliness of the ship was at extremely high levels the entire cruise. The amenities are outstanding with all the bars and restaurants truly inspiring. The staff are so attentive that you really do feel special with every interaction. Highlights are many but the main restaurant was wonderful. The food was matched by the staff - all outstanding. We also dined in each of the speciality restaurants - Silk Harvest, Tuscan Grill & Murano. All different and each providing a very different experience. Our only complaint (which we made known at the time) was that in both Tuscan Grill and Murano they served the meals very quickly so we would suggest you ask them to slow down the service. The casual Ocean View restaurant was okay but as we are not buffet fans did not use it a lot.
Each of the bars have their own ambience and our favourite was the Ensemble Bar. Very relaxing and warm environment.
We found the on-shore experiences okay but to be honest not a highlight. Lifou and Noumea were a little disappointing while the Isle of Pines was the best of the New Caledonia stops. Suva in Fiji is pretty grotty whilst Lautoka is a little better particularly for shopping. We preferred to do our own explorations so did not use the ships excursions. However it's all in the adventure and that's why we went cruising!
Our stateroom (8342) was outstanding. We chose this sunset verandah stateroom to gain a better experience and were not disappointed. The ship is very stable even in rougher seas and it was not a problem being at the rear.
