Sail Date: Oct 2013

We booked this cruise looking for an easy and relaxing getaway; the itinerary was perfect. But there is no way I would ever sail on the Norwegian Dawn again. The food was mediocre at best, the only exception was Teppanyaki. We tried Aqua, Venetian, Cucina, and Moderno and I wouldn't even rate them as average. Service in the restaurants was slow and the wait staff seemed completely uninterested (again Tepppanyaki was the exception and they put on a great show).

The entertainment was nothing to write home about either. Our Steward and Butler were outstanding and made the trip bearable. The thermal suite in the Spa was also very nice and we spent a lot of time there to get away from the smokers. Smokers were over represented in this crowd; so much so that the Promenade Deck was unpleasant for walking and the Casino was simply intolerable after about 7 PM. And, unfortunately our room was on Deck 8, just above the Promenade Deck (and all the smokers), so using the balcony while we were in port was next to impossible, which was unfortunate because the weather in Bermuda was spectacular. The room was also very noisy with the beat of drums & base coming up through the floor, and the TV in the next room coming through the wall. The price was right (so we thought), but now we know why.

Very nice size room with a good layout. The balcony wraps around the corner of the ship, but it's only about 3 feet wide. Carpet was starting to show some wear and was coming apart at the seams (not bad though). Curtains were missing some hooks but again nothing terrible. Loved the Espresso machine in the room! The Butler and Steward were very attentive. The room was very noisy, both from the lounge below and also the TV in the room next door.
