This was the 2nd time on the Magic in 12 months. My wife and I and two close friends drove from San Antonio, Tx thru a pouring rain storm. It's been so long since we've seen rain we forgot how to work the wind shield wipers (true). Half an hour out of Galveston the sky cleared up and we embarked without getting wet. Once we we're ID'd as Platinum we we're walked thru the whole process and on the ship in less than 10 min. Rooms would be ready in 7 min. So we went to the Lido deck for a light lunch. Plenty of tables and no long lines at the buffet. We have found the Deli at the back of the Lido to be our favorite place for lunch.

Our cabin was on deck 6 at the very front(bow). It's classified as an inside with an obstructed view. It overlooks the observation deck. It was nice to have the window but we'll never pick a cabin this far forward. Thank goodness this was the smoothest cruise we've ever been on. The few times we hit rough water you could really feel and hear it. Lesson learned!

We always take the early dining. Our wait staff was excellent. Wish I could say the same about the food. Not one memorable over 7 days. I had sea food 4 nights out of 7. The fish was dry, over cooked and lacked any taste. The soups on the other hand we're excellent.

Cabin Review

Carnival has some the largest inside cabins. We choose this particular cabin because it had a couch in it. Last year our inside had only one chair at the vanity ( no arms ). The shower was one of the best. Room was well laid out and the LCD TV was easy to operate. Our cabin attendant (Fidal) was excellent.
