Good service and fortunate timing

Sail Date: October 2013
Destination: Europe - River Cruise
Embarkation: Budapest
We sailed with the Njord the last week of October and had a very good experience.

The timing was perfect, pure luck on our part, as the autumn leaves had turned and the colors were wonderful, particularly through the Wachau Valley.

VIking staff was fantastic from start to finish, literally. From the moment our flight from US arrived to the time they dropped us at the Nuremberg airport to return home, we were well taken care of. Each staff member seemed to go above the call of duty to be sure we had what we needed and enjoyed our time on board.

The Viking arranged tours in each port were well done - short enough so as not to be felt to be endless, but enough time to get a good feel for each city. Tour staff were very knowledgeable and personable.

Food on board was very good, I would say very good instead of excellent as there were a few dishes that could have used some improvement. Having said that, we were satisfied with everything and felt we had More good enough choices at each meal.

The ship is in great condition, though the internet is just terrible. This was about the only negative we found and while it was an issue for us it may not be for others. Less

Cabin review:

The cabins are typically sized. We found we had plenty of storage for two people and our two suitcases worth of clothing. Bathroom is small but good enough.
