This was our first cruise with Oceania, and we couldn't be more thrilled with them. From the moment we were greeted at our hotel in Barcelona, we only experienced outstanding customer service.
The embarkation process was smooth. Our stateroom with a balcony was huge, especially by typical cruise ship standards. There was ample closet and drawer space. The bathroom had not only a shower, but also a full size bathtub! Throughout our 10 days onboard, every single staff member of Oceania truly made us feel like welcome and honored guests. We can't say enough about the unbelievably high quality food that was served in every dining venue. Lobster tails, filet mignon, sushi, eggs Benedict, lamb chops and decadent desserts were among the daily offerings, among many other choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The four specialty restaurants were particularly excellent in both service and food quality. An example: I was wearing black outfits in two of the restaurants. When the wait staff first came to our table, they asked if I would prefer a black napkin rather than the standard white (to avoid white lint on my outfits)!! With Jacques Pepin as the cruise's top chef, you know food will be outstanding, but this so exceeded our expectations.
The average age of this cruise was about 60, which was perfect for us as a couple in the same age group. Other passengers we encountered were very friendly. This cruise was well worth the expense, and we would eagerly cruise Oceania again.
