Sail Date: Sep 2013

Being an avid cruiser, we already had a bad experience with Princess Cruises a couple of years ago. However, we liked the wine coastal tour down the pacific and found that Princess had the best itinerary. When we boarded and the first night things were looking a lot better than our first experience. After that, it went downhill. The food was terrible, the service was bad when there was service and the room was never ready until about 02:00pm each day except for the day the stateroom steward was getting off the ship. The entertainment was horrible and seemed to be the same thing over and over. The Cruise Director was basically no-existent. Having cruised on their sister line Carnival, I haved found this line to be 100% better and always something different. Same goes for Royal Caribbean and Norwegian, much more of a class act. If you are 80+, you probably will enjoy Princess. I will never sail with Princess again no matter how good their itinerary is !!!

Also, there shore excursions are grossly overpriced. In Seatlle, we book the hop on, hop off tour and paid around $70.00/person. If we walked off the ship and went directly to the tour operator, it was $20.00/person.

The Seaside and Cannon Ball Beach Shopping Tour in Astoria, was a scam as well. Spent approx. 30 minutes at each of the two stops and about 3 hours on a bus. Description said approx. 2 1/2 hours shopping.

Cabin Review

The stateroom had a very large balcony which was one of the positives. Didn't find it exceptionally clean.
