We just returned from The freedom of the Seas Eastern Caribbean Cruise. We had an enjoyable time. The ship was very easy to get around. The service was ok. We have been on other cruise lines and the service on those was outstanding. Comparing the two was probably not fair but it was hard not to do that. The food was ok at best. We did my time dining and that was a nice perk to this cruise. I enjoyed the flexibility of that option. I expected the food to be much better and was disappointed in the selections offered and chose to eat at the buffet on several occasions. The staff at the buffet was very friendly and very eager to serve.
The soda package was very easy to use. The soda machines were so nice, lots of options. The only issue is that they didn't have a machine near the pool- so you had to go inside to find soda.
We visited St. Thomas and St. Maarten along with the private island royal Caribbean owns. The ports we nice and the beaches were beautiful. I would say that I was disappointed in the service as you left the ship at the ports. You needed to bring everything including towel to the ramp as you departed, and lots of people needed to run to the 11th floor to get towels- other ships have those as you leave and a place to return dirty ones as you come back on board, something that the cruise should think about.
The room we had was very spacious and had a very nice balcony. We were near the elevator but did not have a problem with the noise. We were even near the internet area which was always busy but still never had a problem with noise. There is lots of storage space in the rooms- lots of drawers and plenty of closet space. The bathroom was just like any cruise ship-small- the shower was nice as it has actual doors and not a "curtain".
