Went on Majesty mid September and do not understand the bad reviews I read prior. Yes, it's a small ship but you know that when you book and we found this to be an advantage as you get to know other cruisers. The service was great from everyone and the food was very good with plenty of choices (could have been hotter in buffet area) and there were two 'any time' dining restaurants to go to. We two had a Standard cabin (924) which could have been for 4 people(would be very cramped) and the maid service was excellent. We had the '£69 pp drinks package' which I would advise everyone to get, if possible - saved us a fortune. The entertainment was the best we have ever seen on a cruise - absolutely superb singers and dancing group and singer/comedian.
The only thing we found disappointing were the excursions which we think were very expensive for what we got. Rome -£79 We know you have to queue for The Vatican (2hrs.) but our coach kept us waiting for 45mins. after, so we only got a very short time at the Colosseum then on to Pantheon where we were for far too long. Also trip to Capri (£54) wasn't too good - once there we walked for 15-20 mins to look at the view, we were then left for 4hrs. with nothing very much to do until returning on boat. I did get a 20% refund for this trip.
The sail back to Corfu was good and for disembarkation we were given 11.45 timeslot where we lazed on a sunbed on deck waiting to get the coach to our hotel in Corfu for a further week at the superb Louis Corcyra Hotel.
Our cabin on deck 9 could have been for 4 people as there were two bunks folded against the wall. I would imagine it to be very cramped if 4 people were in there, but we were pleased with it for just two of us.We put the bunk ladders in one of the wardrobes so we could get our suitcases under the comfortable beds. Partial lifeboat view from window but that was o.k. The lift area was just two cabins along and we only had to walk up one flight of stairs to get the top deck.
