This is a fairley long review!

We flew to Barcelona from UK. Embarkation was excellent, we took swimwear so we could enjoy the ships facilities straight away. The Serenity is amazing! To have have such quality sunbeds and furniture, (AND adults only!!!) all included in the price was real bonus. This was our 17th cruise in the 9 years but our first experience with Carnival. We had followed the ships refit on line and were keen to try Carnival on a "new" ship. When we got to the cabin (inside) we found there was no refrigerator and no beside cabinets, surely basic needs on any cruise? I went to reception to ask about upgrading but they said the ship was full, I was told many of the cabins don't have refrigerators and asked why I needed one! The crew member on guest relations was not particularly nice or helpful.

We discovered that as our room was the very last one on the corridor it was next to the big dood that crew use to come and go to their cabins etc. The crew all took a delight in banging this door at all hours and we had a lousy night's sleep. I went to guest relations the next morning and got a very helpful staff member, Olga, and I said I knew the ship was full but could they put a note on the crew door or make it bang less, she apologised about the noise and said she would try to have the door looked at and she also called housekeeping to see if they could sort out bedside cabinets. To cut a long story short we got a bedside cabinet that day and he next day Olga had put a note through our door saying she had managed to get us a different cabin now.
