Being a previous Princess cruiser I knew what to expect in a cruise but was still open minded to trying a different line. Unfortunately the Carnival Magic did not quite meet my expectations. The ship is nice but does not comfortably hold 3600 plus people. There are only two tiny pools on the entire ship, enough room to hold maybe 15 people each. Strange. The ship does have a numerous amount of hot tubs which are nice to pile into with the other 3570 people that couldn't fit into the tiny swimming pools. Meal time was always a long drawn out process of line after line of hungry folks trying to squeeze in together to get a taste of the less than golden corral quality food that was only available at certain times throughout the day. Pizza and ice cream are available 24 hours a day, both of which are very yummy. The ports we visited were Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, all of which were very lovely.

Excursions seem like the only way to go if you want to enjoy the stops. We visited the Grand Palladium resort in Jamaica and it was well worth the money! Beautiful beach with awesome snorkeling, the biggest swimming pool I have ever seen, and very good food and drinks all of which were included. Two thumbs up for the Grand Palladium and Jamaica. Next was Grand Cayman. The water here was crystal clear and so beautiful. The tour we choose was called Allura Catamaran and Stingray sandbar. The crew was awesome, all business, and the stingray interaction was simply amazing! They take you out into the sea on top of a huge sandbar where the Wild stingrays come to eat and play. Definitely my most favorite excursion. The last port was Cozumel abs it was very beautiful as well. This time we did the Chankanaab all inclusive. Although the tour ended up turning out ok, the idea is to scam you orut of a few hours of the 5 hours that were paid for. After the game of cat and mouse they make you play the snorkeling is beautiful but the food and drink are not very good, being you only have a limited drink menu and a couple food choices. Wouldn't do Chankanaab again. Overall I had a wonderful vacation but do not plan on sailing with Carnival ever again. Princess is the way to go if you want luxury, elbow room, and a home away from home.

Cabin Review

Balcony cabin was pretty nice but a little small. Stayed cool always and was very clean. The staff is wonderful.
