I fear we are now spoiled for any other cruise line. We set off from New York at the beginning of the month and returned home to Scotland on 25th September. In San Francisco we stayed in the Four Seasons, which was great. I am going to run out of superlatives in this review. Like a previous reviewer, the fact that everything is paid up front is a huge plus. The staff are wonderful in all departments, though our steward and stewardess were particularly wonderful; helpful, unobtrusive, friendly and never obsequious. It was good to get dressed up for the two formal dress evenings and equally good not to have to most of the time. The food was superb in all the restaurants. We enjoyed the company of fellow guests, particularly those from Liverpool, Elgin, Australia and the two entertainers who befriended us from USA and Ukraine. Jamie, the Cruise Director was helpful and ever present. I am not sure if or when he slept. The excursions we went on were uniformly good. Not all guests were happy with all their choices, but we enjoyed them all, having chosen ones that would take no more than four hours and did not involve shopping. Why would you do that somewhere else when the cruise was going to end in New York? The entertainment in the Lounge in the evening was extremely professional and entertaining. Singing and Dancing were superb, particularly from the principals in the crew cast. The band were great. We particularly enjoyed listening to them on deck on the last day, when the navigator could not get into it's berth. Not the fault of Regent. The Crew capers, the barbecue and beatles night, the Country Fair were all superb occasions when the crew and guests mixed together and had fun.

If you want something very posh, this might not be for you. We loved it and have booked next November on Navigator to go up the Amazon.

Thank you all on Navigator.
