The embarkation in Barcelona 9/8 was very organized and quick...less than 20 mins. Just enough time to have a beer in the waiting area. I had reviewed the deck plans which helped. I would suggest everyone do that regardless of the ship and her size. Things were relative to the ship size - for example, on a 2000 passenger ship you may have 4 -6 water/ice/tea stations. On Epic you have 8 - 10 stations spread out inside and outside. You may have 2 doors open to exit the ship. On Epic you may have 4 doors to use.
The excursions were very well organized. When one was called, people were led out by NCL people. It would have been really hard for someone to get into the wrong group or on wrong bus.
The technology on the TV and on the ship was the best I have seen. One could see their Itemized Bill on the TV! It was updated almost immediately after a charge was made. In the public areas, touch screens allowed excursions to be booked. Touch screens were available in public areas to learn more about variety of topics. One could look at a restaurant board and see when the busy/not so busy times were in each restaurant.
Epic cabin 9248 had tons of storage space. We selected it because we wanted a shower only and wanted the couch by the balcony. The shower was really big. Being close to elevators was not a noise problem at all.
