What's There Not To Like About Cruising

Sail Date: July 2013
Destination: Baltic Sea
Embarkation: Southampton
Embarkation - effortless and speedy

Cabin (with balcony) - a good size, unpack and ready for a relaxing holiday

Breakfast - usually healthy option in the Meridian was good and sociable

Lunch - in the meridian was good and sociable

Dinner - good food, attentive service

Entertainment - we loved the Headliners shows, guest singers/musicians, the band, classical guitarist etc - all excellent except the comedian who was sexist/racist and everything except funny. We were among the many who walked out!

Ports of call: Kristiansand 8/10; Gydnia 2/10 (take taxi to the train station then ticket to Gdansk. There are frequent and inexpensive trains every 10 minutes) but Gdansk 8/10; St Petersburg 10/10, (we went with Red October on private tours and would highly recommend them); Tallinn 10/10 easy to walk into town. Go early before all the tours arrive as it gets very crowded; Stockholm 10/10, visit City Hall for tour which leave every 30 mins; More Copenhagen 10/10, canal tour from Nyhavn worth doing, don't bother with Tivoli gardens as its in a time warp and past its best; Zeebrugge for Bruges 10/10, quite difficult to get to as the trains are not that frequent from Zeebrugge.

Marco Pierre White restaurant: very enjoyable and worth doing.

Disembarking - a breeze.

Thanks Arcadia for delivering high quality at good value prices. What's there not to like about cruising? Less
