Living in Nj we find it easy to depart from Bayonne/NYC..We drive to the port, drop off our luggage, no hassels with how much luggage weighs, and park the car..It is a pleasure...We have been on the Summit 3x now, once before the refit(from PR) and twice after. We have cruised to bermuda some 6-7 times over the years(zenith and horizon), as it is an enjoyable 7day trip, and if we go with couples, the guys can golf and then join the girls for some beachtime. I much prefer docking in Hamilton and St. Georges than out at the royal dockyards. Our cabin was splendid, large balcony which is partially covered, on the stern of the ship. The steward seemed a bit frazzled as they increased his room count to some 26 rooms, and as a result our cabin service suffered(No ice when requested, the cabin not made up promptly, etc)..The cabin was clean and slightly worn. The bathroom shower should be recaulked/redone, but it was serviceable and clean. I expected a little better service, bedding, and towels with concierge class.. The steward was pleasant, but seemed overworked.

The entire staff is friendly and accommodating when you pass by, or make a request. Always a hello or good morning.. I miss my coffee guy in the oceanview with his song of "fantastic coffee" every morning. They do need to help the older people with trays, and clean tables a bit quicker.

Entertainment was good, enjoyed the piano bar singer, the guitarist, and the shows. Gambling is out while docked in bermuda, but at least we had some fun the 3 nites down and 2 nites back..

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 1

Cabin C1

stern cabin, concierge class 1, large partially covered balcony, great for views, lounging, but still a standard cabin. Bed not plush, have had better beds on other ships. Closets are standard, as is bathroom. Room was well cooled with a/c. Tv has limited stations.
