Breakaway- A Bit Disappointing

Sail Date: July 2013
Destination: Bermuda
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)
Embarkation: Good

Disembarkation :Good

Cabin: Nice size cabin Decent balcony Steward was good and attentive Towel animals 5 out of 7 nights.

Food: O.K. We ate at La Cucina My wife's favorite restaurant not so mine, Moderno's My favorite restaurant, not so for my wife. Teppanyaki My wife and i both thought this restaurant was horrible, bad service, bad food notso entertaining "show", buffet was aweful not sanitary food was horrible, manhatten room service was very slow took 2 hours to get dinner missed a show because of this, steak was so tough you could knock someone out if you threw it at them.We cruised Carnival before and they had Ice Cream 24 hours a day, not so on the Breakaway, Carnival had 24 hour Pizza complimentary not so on the Breakaway Yes you can get Pizza 24/7 but you had to pay $5.00 for it. Carnival had fruit carvings for the buffets not so on the Breakaway.

Shows/ Entertainment: Rock of ages was really good although some people More brought children to the show and covered their eyes at the Raunchy parts- what part of not for children do these people NOT understand,Burn the floor was ok after the first 20 minutes of the show it got boring, Cirque show was good the dinner was HORRIBLE!, Comedy/ Magician Nick Lewin REALLY NCL???? This guy was absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! what a BAD way to end a overall decent cruise. He was NOT funny and his magic tricks were old and very dated!!

Julie the cruise director was more like a Vanna White representation than a cruise director. Not much activities and the only time you saw her was at the end of the shows on the main stage after that the only activities going on was the Pay-to-play Deal or No deal and bingo. Really NCL, you have to get a better cruise director that knows how to keep your passengers entertained.

Pools were WAY overcrowded and SMALL Although the hot tubs say Adults only there were TOO many kids in them and you couldn't swim in the pools unless you feel like getting kicked in the head or pushed out of the way. The waterslides were FUN especially the Free Fall drop slides Didn't do the ropes course everytime I tried the line was over an hour wait!

Bermuda: Excellent Friendly people Bus/ferry system was nice way to get around the island Hartley's Helmet Dive was a GREAT excursion lots of fun very informative you get to hold fish like Hogfish and big grouper fish. Lighthouse was nice view of the island but you have to walk up and down 185 steps! Crystal caves was nice to see but not at all worth $22 admission per cave.

Overall, my wife and I had a nice cruise vacation, would we sail Norwegian again more than likely NOT We are going try Royal Carribbean for our next cruise Nice try Breakaway but if you lower your prices, teach your staff some customer service techniques, get better food on board, stopping cramming passengers on elevators and pools like sardines, and STOP nickel and diming your customers to death you might get repeat customers. Less
