We started our trip on the SS Antoinette in Amsterdam. The ship was docked right behind the Central Station downtown. This made it very easy to access from the local transportation. We arrived at the dock around 12:00 noon and were met by a representative from UniWorld who took our bags and escorted us on to the ship. Check in was very fast and we were told that lunch was being served on the top deck. They had sandwiches, salads, soup, fish and meat. They also had dessert and drinks (wine, beer, tea or soda) all complimentary. Around 2:00 P.M. a member of the staff come around told us that our cabin was ready. When we arrived in our cabin our luggage was already there. The room was even better than advertised. Very spacious and the bathroom was larger than any we have ever seen on a ship.

The excursions, which were included in the price of the trip, were very good. Choices were offered everyday for morning, afternoon or both for local trips. Guides were good, and comfortable coaches were always there on time. The vinegar tasting was the highlight of our trip. So unique and interesting. The crew onboard was amiable and catered to just about every whim of the passengers.

The food on the ship was above average with an attentive waitstaff. Meals varied every meal with a selection offered for those who didn't care for the special dinner. Champagne receptions occurred a couple of times during the week. Dress was tasteful casual.
