As first-time cruisers we had little knowledge on the Oceana. Overall we enjoyed the holiday but would probably not repeat. I think we are too independently minded and the proximity to so many other holiday makers was not what we would normally choose.
We do wish we had opted for an adult only cruise. Parents do not always respect other people's space, and on occasion we had teenagers charging around in groups and very young children spoiling evening events.
The standard of food was high. We particularly enjoyed a meal at the Horizon grill (additional charge but worth it) The 'black tie' evenings need to be done away with - they are pointless and do not really match with the overall standard of these sort of cruises, ie with bingo and Mr and Mrs quizzes
