We used the Jewel for the second time to cruise the southern caribbean recently. We used the ship the first time to do northern Europe a number of years ago, and for us we could definitely see the signs of a ship that needs a dry dock and a revitalization process. We had an aft cabin the same as before and the couch in our cabin was torn even though you could see an attempt to fix it. The bathroom had a constant smell, and did not work well at times. I thought the crew was doing their very best to make us comfortable in spite of everything. We travelled with two other couples and one couple had major issues with leaks and wet floors, and the crew worked hard to assist. The ship is a great ship, it just needs to be updated and will be in 2014.

We loved the ports some of which we had not been to before.

Prior cruisers have complained about the food but I thought it was very good. We used both of the specialty restaurants and loved them.
