This was our first cruise and i have to say I found this board very helpful. This led to few bad surprises. Our experience overall was terrific on the Serenade of the Seas. We chose San Diego as our Port of Departure as it is a quick plane trip from our home in Phoenix. We came in a day early and booked a room at the Holiday Inn on the Bay. We had a very nice day in San Diego and a terrific dinner at Anthonys. We walked right across the street to the cruise terminal. Even though we checked in online it still took us 3 hors to board the ship. Our fault really as we waited until 2PM to head over there. If we had arrived at 12 noon we would have been on the ship around 2PM. Lesson learned.

We book a junior suite and it was exactly as advertised in the brochure and online. Large room , 293 sq feet and large balcony with a perfect view. We were towards the back of the ship but we needed the exercise with all the food and drinks we had. Our attendant, Donovan, was excellent.

The Serenade of the Seas was very beautiful and we had so much to do. The staff was fun and very courteous. The drinks although expensive were well made and the bartenders were good on the pour!!
