We departed on October 1 on Rhapsody for what turned out to be an awesome cruise vacation. Our party included three couples in our 50s and 60s.
Embarkation: Since we live just 30 minutes from Galveston, we were able to take half of our worldly possessions on this cruise. Some of the best things we took were a power strip, a nightlight, room deodorizer, and an over-the-door shoe holder for the bathroom door of our cabin. We looked more like gypsies than like vacationers, with all of our stuff. We arrived at the dock about 10:30 AM and were allowed to board at 11:45 AM. By 12:30 PM we were having lunch in the Windjammer and were officially on vacation. About an hour later, we found our luggage in the hall and took it to our cabin.
The Ship: Overall, the ship seemed to be in much better condition that it was when we cruise three years ago. The dEcor and condition of the ship were beautiful. Inside rooms on our hall (deck 7) were being recarpeted and redecorated as we cruised. The balcony rooms still had the older dEcor. Our cabin, #7652, was on the starboard aft corner and was SUPER! Although the dEcor left something to be desired, the balcony more than compensated. It was huge and wrapped around the side of the ship. At night, there was a little noise from the Shall We Dance Lounge below, but by the time we went to bed we were so tired we didn't notice.
