We had cruise on the Celebrity Galaxy years ago, and were just blown away by the excellence in detail to your dining experience. This time on the Solstice we ate at the Bistro and Oceanview Cafe most of the time. The dining experience (we used select dining) was awful. The wait staff was rushed and didn't even have time to refill our glasses of water or offer us drinks. The food was awful (having pork chops one night and sirloin strip the next both tough as leather and with only a butter knife to try to cut it with), the tables were right on top of one another and we were seated right next to the serving station which was loud. If you are looking for good food to eat and a good dining experience, the Solstice is not your shiip. We were in the Concierge Cabins and they were great. Our attendant was very good and the rooms were always clean. The entertainment was good especially Brent Nixon with his talks on Orcas, Sea Lions, Eagles, and Whales. We did not attend any of the shows so I can not speak to those. The ship was beautiful and had lots of nice bars, bistros and coffee/tea areas in which to sit.Our only complaint was the food and service in the Dining Room. My daughter wrote a review on the ship of our experience and the staff was very nice and sent us a bottle of wine but we never returned to the Dining Room. It was just that bad that we refused to put ourselves through it again. We unfortunately missed both formal nights with our family and that was disappointing.
The stateroom was very nice. Our attendant, Jose, was wonderful and always there to help if we needed something.
