This was our 13th cruise. All on carnival. This was our second trip on the Elation. We traveled from Mississippi to New Orleans Saturday morning. As VIP Platinum cruisers we found the embarkation to be quick and easy. We were on the ship and in our room within 10 minutes. We has plenty of time to enjoy lunch in the buffet before the lifeboat drill. We always dread this drill, but know its necessary. Next we changed and enjoyed a relaxing afternoon on the Serenity Deck. We had a Ocean view room on Upper Deck.

Sunday was a beautiful day at Sea and we again enjoyed the Serenity Deck. We had no problems getting chairs there. We started each day with breakfast in the dining room and we enjoy meeting new people each day. Lunch was usually at the buffet and we always found something good. We check the menu posting outside the dining room to decide if we want to eat there at night and sometimes we eat elsewhere. Often the buffet had the same meals and is much quicker. We had lunch in the dinning room one day and it was very good.

The first port was Progreso and we got off the ship and walked to the beach. The area has improved since our last visit there. Vendors did not pester us as bad as previously and we enjoyed a quiet day there.

Cozumel is our favorite port. We walked to the taxi stand and took a cab to Paradise Beach. We have been there numerous times and always enjoy it. The price to get in $2.00 pp can't be beat. We have never had a problem getting a cab there or back. The cab is $14 each way for 1-4 people.

Our only problem on this cruise was our cabin . We ended up with a handicap cabin. We didn't need this , but evidently the ship didn't need it for anyone else. Never Do This! if you don't need it. This room was inconvenient. The extra space needed for turning wheelchairs cuts back on closet space, there were no shelves in bathroom and because the door opens and closes automatically, you have to wait several seconds for it to close when you reenter the room . One night it wouldn't open and security spent 45 minutes trying to help us get into room The cabin stewart said the had problems with it before. It needs to be fixed!

The crew on the ship was great as usual. Because this was such a short cruise we didn't try to get to each activity. We were so glad that the old guest talent show was back on the last night. That was always one of our favorite things. We found the Legends Show to be boring after seeing it about 8 times. Hope every ship is using the guest talent.

Debarkation was so easy. We self assist and we were off the ship by 7:30 as platinum guest' Can't wait for our next cruise August 25th.
