This was our 3rd cruise on the Jade out of Venice, but new for us the greek island itenary for 7 days.Ports of call were Corfu, Santorini, Mykonos and Katakolo ( Olympia)Embarkation in Venice was very good again, we did drive by car right onto the pier and did park there for the week ( 95 EUR ) with only steps to the terminal. Boarding had no lines at 1.30 p.m. and after a short wait we could embark the ship and cabins were ready to move in.The ship looks great overall , has some small scratches ( a few missing tiles on the pool and hottub sides ) and a small scratches in the bathroom tubs but overall in excellent shape .We had booked two mini-suites at deck 11 port side for our group of 6 at the end of the ship , a location i enjoyed a lot with short ways to the pool deck and garden cafe and very quiet at night. Can highly recommend .Food in the main restaurants was excellent, as well as the buffet, i would say compared to a year ago it did improve a few notches. Teppanyaki was outstanding value, they improved the show at the table and our cook Alex was a hoot and prepared our food to perfection.This can not be said about Moderno restaurant which was the only letdown during the week. We planned a birthday dinner there and it started well with the nice appetizers in a buffet style. But then chaos started, they delivered our side dishes in 4 small metal pots, but then no sigh of any waiter with meats for 20 minutes. 2 different kind of chicken appeared , only slightly warm, same after 15 more minutes with the sausages which were tasty but cold. after 15 more minutes i asked our waitress to replace the side dishes and to speed up the service. We waited another 15 minutes for a cold piece of sliced beef and very hard an unchewable ribs, again cold. So we left hungry after almost 2 hours and went o the garden cafe. I assume the kitchen layout with long ways to the restaurant makes it impossible to deliver what they promise.. constantly serving fresh meats all you can eat. Manager and hotel director were informed and my mum's birthday cake was delivered to her cabin and they did send a bottle of bubbly as an excuse.Ports were great, Corfu is nice but the limited amount of time ( tender port) leaves only 5 hours in port once you are ashore and this is barely anough to see a small part of the island. Would love to spend a whole day there. Santorini we hired a driver for a full day and had a blast seeing beaches, drinking wine and seeing the Fira and Oia ... best mediterr. port of call for us.Mykonos is a charming little party town, lots of small bars and high end shops. Easy to navigate and had a great walk around town. Katakolo we did stay in the port area with the small village. Very friendly people but prices in shops highly inflated. When you go to one of the restaurants and order fish ask for the price. They charge by weight and the lobster might cost you 100 USD. Still a very nice town.Have to recommend two more areas .. very friendly Casino hosts and Dealers ( Hi Jose .... ) and did win some money which helped keeping up the mood .Guest service desk made some magic .. finding a lost piece of luggage ( Airport Venice did loose it ) and delivering it within 2 days to Corfu .... Well done .. saved the vacation for one of the ladies ......Cruide director Gary again the perfect fit for this ship.
