We were a little apprehensive before we left. A forty year old ship, not sure. We needn't have worried. From the moment we arrived at Tilbury we were well looked after. Embarkation was easy and efficient, the moment we steeped onto Marco Polo i felt reassured. Very elegant inside and spotlessly clean. We went to our cabin 818 with our baggage already there. The cabin was roomy, clean with everything we required. The ship it self was well laid out. 5 bar area's all with there own atmosphere, Marco's Bistro with it's excellent food although it could be a bit of a bun fight sometimes securing a table ! We ate most of our meals in the Waldorf Restaurant which quite simply was superb, not a bad course let alone a meal. The service was excellent and a big thank you to Rocky our table waiter and Cruz our wine waiter. The Marco Polo lounge was a great place for the evening entertainment. Joseph, We will rock you, Abba, were just a few excellent shows the entertainment team did, and the entertainment around the other lounges was top class as well.A big thank you to Cruise and Maritime the cruise was superb and worth every bit of money spent. As for Marco Polo, she really is a liner in the classic mold, and we will be back on her again.Just to note Disembarkation was just as good and easy as embarkation.
