Celebrity Century Cruise Review by GreatKarma2U
- Sail Date: May 2013
- Destination: Alaska
- Cabin Type: Concierge Class
Yes the Celebrity Century is the oldest in the Celebrity Fleet, however, fear not! This Ship is a classic beauty and bow to aft, in tip top shape as far as functionality and cleanliness.
First off, a Big Shout out to just a few of the Stars onboard the Century that we had the pleasure in meeting and had the delight of being taken care of by them. The Waiters we had were exceptional! Volkan, Selvi & Hector were so very efficient and knowledgeable and always smiling and attentive to our dining needs. Selvi went above and beyond in supplying my wife with a beautiful Birthday Cake! Thanks Heaps Selvi!
Jairo and Peter made our home away from home serene! Every night we returned to chocolates on our pillows, fruit in our basket and the occasional towel creature protecting our cabin from the unknown :) Both gents were always so very pleasant and greeted us with smiles and a genuine interest in how our day was going - we so appreciated it!
The Aqua staff were equally brilliant and took away our aches and pains with ease - thanks folks!
Our Cruise Director Rich was brilliant! I am a firm believer that your Cruise Director by in large, sets the tone of your Cruise and Rich kept us smiling and educated throughout the Cruise. If you're lucky to have Rich as a Cruise Director on your cruise, you'll be in great hands my friends!
The Cruise Highlights:
We loved the Persian Garden - the Heated Tiled Chairs are delish! Melting the aches away
The Aqua Spa Eatery - Mostly Free and Absolutely Healthy! Kept our bellies from bulging :)
The Theatre - Amazingly well laid out, really not a bad seat or view point in the house!
The Shows - Celebrity's Entertainment on this Cruise was second to none in my humble opinion - Amazing!
Cruising the Hubbard Glacier - we got soooo close we could almost feel the mist from the calving 300 ft Glaciers! We witnessed 5 incredible calving instances!
The Brunch at the end of the Cruise - This was soooo amazing, so many foods from many countries and desserts from around the world, did I mention muucho Chocolate!
Meetin fellow Cruise Critics in the Michaels Club onboard, set up by Celebrity and Cruise Critic Lady Slipper - Fantastic event! Looking forward to seeing everyone again real soon :)
Overall from start to finish, a very enjoyable cruise.
Our bathroom ceiling exhaust vent hissed excessively but the hotel manager fixed it quickly and efficiently
Movies are not free ( unless they are on the normal tv ) we missed the Free Movies that we so enjoyed on Holland America

Icy StraitFantastic first Port of call, surrounded by snow covered mountains. And I believe that we were told that the Zip Line there was the longest in the world! It took you from the top of a cliff to almost beachside! Incredible views!View All 251 Icy Strait Cruise Port Reviews

KetchikanI thought this was the best place to shop in Alaska - only 6% Sales Tax and I believe I was told that the most Sales Tax you would pay there in a single purchase was $60!View All 1,428 Ketchikan Cruise Port Reviews
The Shopping selection was great and soooo close to the pier - we loved making it a shopping day :)
