Carnival Breeze Cruise Review by bizzy2010
- Sail Date: April 2013
- Destination: Southern Caribbean
1. FOOD... Food sucks, the Lido deck food is horrible, often dry, cold or bland. The only good food from the Lido deck is the fresh cut meats and the deli.
Guys burgers are often over cooked. The fries are decent however, the addons bar is usually very busy. The lines for food at the Lido buffet are crazy at all times of service. It's so annoying when you just want to get some meat, but the line gap is huge between the salad bar and the main bar area. Why isn't there 2 lines? This goes for all of their areas.
Ever try to get mongolian wok? GOODLUCK!! 15-20 mins every time.
Tandor? Cold Corn on the cob every single time? Same chicken stew? Same crap everyday. That being said, the spicy chicken stew is REALLY good and spicy. No lines ever at Tador, i guess people forget that end of the boat exists except for the pool and the tides bar,Which also is very busy all the time.
MDR food is normal, sometimes good sometimes not so good. Only one night of the 8 could you get a souflee and it's grand marnier only. Unlike royal caribbean when you order a souflee you have to before dinner starts..Not here, they just come out! So that makes me wonder, how long are souflees sitting back there? We all know how picky souflee deserts are..They must be eaten right away! What's the deal with the raving on chocolate melting cake? I got it once, and i thought it was horrible.
Cafe + Pub foods.. Both of these are pay for foods, and they are worth the $$ because everywhere else, the food is terrible. The cheesecake from the cafe is AMAZING... chocolate cake was ok, but the portions they give you is enough for 3 people. for only a few dollars. Tasting bar was meh, sandwiches meh. Pub..Sherwin is pretty awesome as the lead bartender. The onion rings and sliders are amazing, as well as the wings. I wish i had ordered more food from these places.
All in all at all free area's of food, there is a line. The comedy brunch is slow, and sometimes went on and on... Food was just ok as well.
Service : Our housekeeper was a nice gentlemen who was very friendly. Tall african guy, i called him mutumbo (8234 room) He kinda looks like dikembe mutumbo. LOL he was very friendly and remembered anything i mentioned to him!
Dinner : We had anytime, and got bounced around to 3 different people on different nights. Jose was our server in the sapphire dining room and he was the best of all. The one night formal night, they stuck us next to some other people which was kinda weird. But the lady who was our waiter was friendly and decent as well. But Jose, i tipped him $5 for just being what i remember GOOD service is about.I remember being on the freedom of the seas when it came out and every person reminded me of how Jose acted in the MDR. CLASS ACT.
Cantina on top deck..Breakfast the burritos were good except they were cold and the hashbrowns felt like old cardboard but they had a good taste.. which was sad because it could of been amazing.. The Rancheros nuevos or whatever up there are amazing also. No complaints on those.
Flat soda's. It felt so annoying to constantly ask for a new can to be opened... i left many flat sodas on the counter.. So annoying, there must be a better way than flat cans?
Cruise director... boring and no personality imo.No kevin spacey for sure.
8234 experienced A LOT OF MOVEMENT during sea days..Made us uneasy on a few days.
Getting on and off was normal and fine. the stateroom was good.
SERENITY.... Not so serene, very loud from the center area music and the kids on the slide. No hammocks, WHERE DID THE HAMMOCKS GO??????????
Indoor hot tub? $20 a day... mehhh On the Carnival Legend the indoor is free.
