We left the port in Tampa on April 21. Embarkation was easy, efficient, and very pleasant. Everyone we came in contact with was so friendly and helpful. By 2:00 p.m. we were having cocktails and lunch on the pool deck. It was one of the very few cloudy days on our trip.
The Dawn is an older ship and although it is well maintained, it could use a face lift in a few areas, mostly on the pool deck. The loungers are not comfortable and need to be replaced as well as some of the wicker tables and chairs. Our stateroom 9175, although small, was adequate and had pretty good storage for such a tiny room. The bed was not as comfortable as we would have liked. It was kept clean and well-stocked at all times.
There are more activities on the Dawn and something for everyone. The cruise director, Gio was outstanding. He has an abundance of energy and is always upbeat and fun. The entertainment on Norwegian is the best of any ship we have been on.
Very tiny cabin. Did have adequate storage, but the bed was not comfortable and needs to be replaced. It was suppose to be quiet due to the fact that there are storage closets around it that are only used during the day, but that was not true and at times was noisy during the night.
Aruba is gorgeous and easy to get around. We have been there before, so this time, just did a little shopping.
Another beautiful island. We took the water taxi to Phillipsburg and walked through the town to do some shopping, then a short walk to the beach for the rest of the afternoon and a delicious lunch of ribs and grouper fingers at one of the many beach bars.
