We just returned from our trip, traveling on the Caribbean Princess. This was our first time sailing with Princess and we were not disappointed. There were 4 of us in our party, my husband and I and his parents. We chose to eat dinner during the early seating and requested a table for 6 or more. We were at a table for 8. We enjoyed getting to know the other 2 couples that we shared the table with. Our waiter was Ion and we loved him. After the first night, he already knew what we liked to drink and was ready to serve it as soon as we were seated. His assistant was Gilberto and he was great too. Even the head waiter, Marcin was great. He introduced himself the first night and came to our table every night and even brought drink refills if Ion and Gilberto were busy. Not like the typical head waiter that only comes around at the end of the cruise to get his tip. We had pre-paid our gratuities but were so happy with the service from our wait-staff that we gave them a little extra the last night to show them our appreciation.
The activities staff was awesome. Each one went out of their way to make sure that everyone was having fun. A few game shows that stood out were "Spot the Cuckoo", where you had to figure out which cruise staff member was lying about their previous jobs (Chris, Pool Boy, Del Sol, Indonesia Jones and Taxi Driver were crazy and kept us laughing!) and "The Marriage Game"...AKA: The Newlywed Game. I think the only person that we were not impressed with was the actual cruise director, Neil. We never saw him except when he introduced that acts in the Princess theater but, that definitely did not ruin our trip.
All in all, we had a great time. The only small damper to the week was that a passenger had to be evacuated from the ship due to a medical condition (heart attack or stroke). The U.S. Coast Guard helicopter had to come pick him up. We are praying for him and hoping that he will have a full recovery.
We liked that there was plenty of storage space for our stuff so that we could keep it out of our way without the room looking messy.
The bathroom and shower were the tiniest we have ever seen. I had to turn the water off so that I could soap up. I am not sure how a large person could possibly fit in the shower.
