Overall Member Rating
Great Family Cruise
Destination: South Pacific
Embarkation: Sydney (Australia)
Travelling - Family 2 x mid 40's plus 2 x teen boys (12 to 15)
Online Booking Experience - great
Online Accounting - great
Online Shore Tour Bookings - challenging but all ok on the day
Online Check in - Great
Onboard check in - Great - quick & very friendly, helpful staff - onboard under 45mins - bags in room almost immediately.
Cabin - 3110 & 3112 - interconnecting - awesome - compact, clean & comfortable - almost soundproof! Bedding clean & comfy, extra bedding found in cabin, bathroom modern & clean. Cabin staff friendly and efficient.
Meals - Main dining - lovely most nights - staff awesome. Buffet good variety, fresh & tasty. Staff excellent service & always friendly & helpful. Breakfast menus needs some improving - more variety. Tables cleared very quickly but not wiped which could be a much needed improvement. Park cafe - great venue - especially late night More snacks. Chops Grill awesome & Italian restaurant great.
Entertainment & Theme nights - Off to a slow start but got better every day- some shows great, some good, some need improving. Sailaway party needs a lot of improvement - very low key (P&O do a great job of the sailaway party) All in all, lots of variety and enjoyed our time onboard.
Drinks - great - reasonable prices (under $10 frozen margaritas) service great - tables around deck 9 pool area need to be wiped clean - rarely saw them clean.
Casino - good fun - staff not as friendly as other staff onboard.
Spa services - heavenly - great staff!
Hubby's Must Do - $150 Behind the scenes ship tour (including the bridge) totally awesome!
Kids Must Do - Teen Lounge - although our kids seemed to be there 24/7 x 2 the room itself does not offer much more than a tv and music and the staff organised activities need some improving - meet & greet for the teens should be a bigger deal on the first night as many first timers did not go along due to shyness - NCL do a better job with the teens - getting everybody involved.
Islands highlights - Cascades in Vila - magic - a really wonderful day! Champagne Bay Beach (including Blue Lagoon) - Heaven on earth! Canoe the Riri River in Luganville - totally awesome - must do the Tarzan swing! Mystery Island - lovely little spot - great coco loco cocktails on the beach! Swimming in Isle of Pines - amazing water! Snorkelling in Lifou - like stepping into the Nemo movie! Noumea - cleaner than everybody says - people friendlier than everybody says - maybe because it was Sunday? Good trip $5 sightseeing on the shuttle bus followed by a good feed at McDonalds!
Tender boat service - very efficient - speedy service
Ship Layout - easy to get around - never seemed crowded - one improvement could be free coffee/tea station on lower levels/casino
Passengers - most friendliest, fun and polite people on a cruise ship - loved meeting so many great people.
Staff - most friendliest and helpful and happy team on any ship or from any resort/hotel etc that we have ever seen.
Disembarkment - Excellent - chose the carry off own luggage option - scheduled for 7.30 - from lift to taxi in under 30 minutes including customs & quick stop at quarantine inspection area.
Summing up - great holiday - heaps of fun on & off the ship - surrounded by great people passengers & crew - wonderful island adventures and good value for money - we will definitely sail away with RCCL again.
Happy to answer any questions that you may have. Less
Cabin review: 3110
Compact, clean, comfortable, reasonably new looking bathroom - plenty storage - plenty hangers - almost soundproof from noise in other rooms, hallway. Very low level noise could be heard from dining room above when setting up tables early morning but not enough to disturb sleep. Extra doona found in room - very appreciated as like a lofty cover!
