First the compliments - Staff are truly wonderful, so hats off to the hiring managers -- I can honestly say I did not experience any issues with the employees -- they were very helpful, kind, engaging etc. So, if you are 70 years of age or older, and want to see Hawaii and get well taken care of -- this is the ideal ship for you as this was the demographic my spouse and I experienced in April. We are in our 40's and felt we were the youngest people on the ship. This ship is the only one that offers a 7 day cruise of all of Hawaii from Honolulu, all others sail from the mainland. Now the negatives: first, the ship is dated -- I mean dated. If you travel on Celebrity or another Cruise line - you will know why. In spite of current renovations (taking place right now) to the expensive cabins, the problem is the rest of the ship's facilities including the pool area is very dated - but if you are in that +70 age category, you will probably think its fine.
Next, the food in the specialty restaurants (Cagney's, Jefferson and Liberty) is just mediocre. That is it. Bland food -- nothing special in spite of the hype -- they really need to bring in some real chefs and perhaps critique the current chefs and the food -- I travel everywhere - and visit many other cruises, so I guess if you have a monopoly on Hawaii, then I guess you can get away with this...its quite disappointing...because the people there have the right stuff on service .....so end of the day, for what I paid for Hawaii -- I expected much better.
Room was clean, unfortunately we had the life rafts directly below our balcony. Bed was comfortable, our room attendant was excellent.
